CAN'T WE BE "JUST FRIENDS"?

New week...the month's end is just by the corner. How was your weekend? Fun, eventful, any surprises?

Well I did get a surprise this weekend; and not the type I would have wanted.

Can I ask guys a question.....can't you ever just be friends with a girl...without wanting something more? Like I've had issues with being close friends with the opposite sex because they almost always want more. There was a time I made a rule to not have male friends that we could just hang out and chit chat about anything. Then I started receiving gist that I was probably a "lesbian" because I stopped chilling with most of my male buddies.

Anyways, fast forward to the present, I resolved we're all more matured now so once y'all are able to talk and set things straight from the get go, there'd be no issues.

This past weekend, everything went south for me mehn. I don't know if I saw it coming or not...Okay so I became really good friends with this colleague of mine at w…

Q: Why African designs? Samuel: First because I'm African, I like the attention and because of the creativity and originality in African designs.

Hmm interesting we must say! Now to what inspires him. Samuel gave us some real deep insight as to his inspiration. He says he's not inspired to model. In his words: "I already love fashion and modeling so I'm not inspired to model instead I'm inspired to grow and step up my game in modeling, this inspiration comes from the creativity and competition from other outstanding models worldwide"....

Clinton Samuel has  modelled for man…

THE F*CKERY OF THE LAW ENFORCEMENT SYSTEM: Missing Charity Aiyedogbon's Case

Hey KRYSTALS, sorry it's taken me this long to write. Life as an intern pharmacist has been taking it toll on me man. Anyways I'm here now.

A blog reader drew my attention to some fvukd up  b.s that happened not too long ago. If you've been following the story of a missing divorced mother of three in Abuja, you'd probably know what I'm talking about. So let me give you a quick run down of the gist.

Okay, so the woman in the picture is Charity Aiyedogbon also known popularly as Deepdeal Chacha De Hammer on her facebook page. She's based in Abuja and has been separated from her husband who has her three kids. Charity has been missing since the 9th of May, 2016 after she informed her facebook audience she was going on a road trip. Both her cell numbers have been switched off since then and the police have still not be able to get any concrete news concerning her whereabouts or proof of life/death.

The sorry part of this case, aside her being missing, is that, inst…

LINDA IKEJI DENIES TAX EVASION ALLEGATIONS AND REAFFIRMS OWNERSHIP OF BANANA MANSION

So we previously got word of Linda being accused of Tax Evasion and how she denied ownership of her 500 million naira banana island mansion with reports suggesting that the FIRS slammed her with a staggering N75 million tax bill and some of the tax proceeds are reported to be related to the purchase of her N500 million mansion.

In an exclusive interview with PulseNow, Linda refuted the rumours saying they are false as she works as an individual and not a company.

According to her, "FIRS go after companies not individuals. And I was operating as an individual," she said.

She told Pulse, "And the Banana house is mine 1000%..lol. Proudly mine and I would never deny it."

Okay o. PRAISE THE LORD!

THE NATURAL HAIRCYCLOPAEDIA

Hi guys! It's born today. The natural hair section of the Krystal Talks blog! Join us on this whirlwind ride of fun & exploration of going back to our roots, literally!
:) My name is Enee & I'm a naturalista! I decided to put this post up today because today marks my one year nappyversary (that's anniversary in curly girl terms, ICYMI). This means I've been natural for one year and counting. This post is to essentially let you know how to transition, why if you need a reason and yeah, to share my own experience with y'all too.
I want to start this off by saying that natural hair is only really for the strong hearted. I saw a post by a natural friend of mine when I still had relaxed hair which read 'Natural hair is not for the weak' and I rolled my eyes and went 'Pffttt! How hard can it be'. I have swallowed all my 'Pffttts' over the course of one year but make no mistake, I have NO single regret having done it, I love it soooo much …

LINDA IKEJI IN TROUBLE WITH FIRS

CHAI!!! Linda Ikeji is in trouble again, this time with Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS).

More woes for the popular multi millionaire blogger as the FIRS slams her with N75 million fine for tax evasion.

It's been reported that Linda has denied ownership of her 500 million naira mansion in Banana island following the heat from "Uncle Sam" (toh, big man big trouble. If it were you would you still claim ownership of the house?)

A source in FIRS says Linda has been evading taxes of N75 million. However when asked of the purchase of her mansion, Aunty Linda blatantly denied she bought that her mansion she's been parading on her instagram page that she allegedly bought in December 2015.

The source also said FIRS has initiated measuress to drag her to court

I'm crying real hot tears for her😢😢😢

LEBRON JAMES AND THE CLEVELAND CAVALIERS BEAT THE ODDS TO BECOME THE 2016 NBA CHAMPIONS!

First of all, Congratulations to Lebron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers as they're crowned 2016 NBA champions!
Where do I even start? Lebron James played two of the greatest games of his career to help tie the series at 3-3, and after game 6, looked at his team mates and begged for one more.."give me just one more" he said. Well, people...they did! The game was pretty close throughout, with so many lead changes and Draymond Green did a lot to help keep the Warriors in it, finishing with 32 points, 15 rebounds and 9 assists, but the overall brilliance of Lebron, with a touch of that killer instinct from Kyrie Irving clearly was too much for golden state to handle. Late in the game, tied at 89-89, two plays that will forever resonate in the minds of any basketball fan: Lebron James' chase down block on Andre Iguodala, and Kyrie's 3 pointer to take the lead. Those last few minutes just summarized what it took from the cavs to defeat golden state, resilient defens…

Ronaldo's missed penalty against Austria see's Portugal denied first win at the euro's

Cristiano Ronaldo missed a penalty as Portugal were held to a second consecutive draw in Group F as they failed to find a way through a resilient Austria defence.
The Real Madrid man sent Robert Almer the wrong way but could only look on agonisingly as the ball came back off the post with 79 minutes gone. In fact, it proved to be a night to truly forget for the superstar as he missed several gilt-edged chances in front of goal and even had a header ruled out for offside. The stalemate means Portugal have yet to record a victory in the Euros and will need to beat Hungary in their final group game to guarantee progression into the final-16. Though Austria were unable to find a winner of their own, they celebrated the draw like a victory. A win over Iceland could secure their place in the latter stages. Portugal started the game at a frantic pace and created several chances but were let down by a lack of proficiency in front o…

Murray makes history at Queen's with record fifth title, courtesy of win over Milos Raonic

Andy Murray mounted a stirring comeback from a set and a break down to defeat Milos Raonic 6-7(6) 6-4 6-3 in the final of the Aegon Championships for a record fifth title at Queen’s. Murray lost the first set on a tie-break and found himself staring down the barrel of defeat at 3-0 down in the second, but the world number two summoned up all his powers of resistance to win eight of the next nine games. Raonic, the world number nine, had suddenly seen his trademark serve desert him and Murray broke in the first game of the third set, holding his nerve to win the match and surpass Boris Becker, Lleyton Hewitt, Andy Roddick, Roy Emerson and John McEnroe with his fifth win at the tournament. At 25, Raonic may be a coming force in men’s tennis, but Murray ultimately outclassed the Canadian to give himself the perfect springboard heading into Wimbledon, and a first trophy in the second spell of returning coach Ivan Lendl, who was appointed ahead of Queen's. "To wi…

Court sentence Ex Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi to life in prison

An Egyptian court has sentenced former Islamist president Mohamed Morsi to life in prison in an espionage trial in which six of his co-defendants were handed death penalties.
The court acquitted Morsi of charges of having supplied Qatar with classified documents but sentenced him to life for leading an unlawful organisation, his lawyer Abdel Moneim Abdel Maksoud said.
The ousted president was also convicted of having "stolen secret documents concerning state security" and handed another 15-year jail term, the lawyer added.
Qatar was a main backer of Morsi and his Muslim Brotherhood movement while he was in power between 2012 and July 2013, when the military overthrew and detained him.
Morsi has been sentenced to death in a separate trial for his alleged role in prison breaks and attacks on police stations during the 2011 uprising that overthrew veteran strongman Hosni Mubarak.
He has also received a life sentence and a 20-year jail term in two other trials.

FATHERS' DAY SPECIAL

It's only fair that fathers be celebrated grandly just as mothers are. Today, we take out time to be very thankful for the heroes and role models in our lives who have paved the way and are still paving the way for their offspring.

It's not just enough to be the "seed carrier or donator"....anyone can do that. It takes a real man to become a dad, to nurture and bear the responsibilities of fatherhood. "Father" is not a title for just anybody, it's a description for great men willing to sacrifice their all for the happiness, comfort and future of their families.

What makes a dad? God took the strength of  mountain, the majesty of a tree, the warmth of a summer sun, the calm of a quiet sea, the generous soul of nature, the comforting arm of night, the wisdom of the ages, the power of the eagle's flight, the joy of a morning in spring, the faith of a mustard seed, the patience of eternity, the depth of a family need and combined these qualities....whe…

Supergirl casts Teen Wolf star Tyler Hoechlin as Superman

Supergirl has found its Superman. When Melissa Benoist’s Girl of Steel joins the Arrow, the Flash, and the Legends of Tomorrow on The CW this fall, she’ll be joined by her Kryptonian cousin, who has otherwise been a “best heard, not seen” character on the series so far. For Season 2, though, the Last Son of Krypton will finally have a face, and he’ll look a lot like Tyler Hoechlin. The Teen Wolf star takes flight in a role previously played on The CW by Smallville’s Tom Welling, who portrayed a pre-Superman Clark Kent for 10 seasons.

Hoechlin actually has comic book roots that pre-date his Supergirl assignment. At the age of 14, he won the coveted role of Tom Hanks’s son in Road to Perdition, the Sam Mendes-directed adaptation of an acclaimed graphic novel. In addition to his role as Derek Hale on Teen Wolf, the actor will also appear in the upcoming Fifty Shades of Grey sequels, Fifty Shades Darker and Fifty Shades Freed.  Hoechlin will make his debut as Superman early on in Supergir…

Kim Kardashian accuses Taylor Swift of lying about not approving Kanye West's 'Famous' Lyrics Just to play the victim

The reality star's rapper husband debuted the song, in which he jokes about sleeping with Taylor, during an album launch and fashion show event in New York earlier this year, prompting Swift's representative to blast his choice of lyrics.

Kanye shot back and revealed Taylor was aware of the song and had given him the OK to reference her, but the pop star's reps insisted that was not the case.
Now, in a new GQ interview, Kanye's wife has defended the rapper, revealing Swift "totally knew" about the song, and could not have been caught out by the lyrics as has been suggested.

"She wanted to all of a sudden act like she didn't (know about the song)...," Kim tells the publication. "I swear, my husband gets so much s**t for things (when) he really was doing proper protocol and even called to get it approved.

"What rapper would call a girl that he was rapping a line about to get approval...? (Producer) Rick Rubin was there. So many resp…

Paul Ryan says American freedom is at risk in seperation of power debate with Trump

House Speaker Paul Ryan, R-Wisc., issued a stern warning Thursday about the rhetoric coming from Donald Trump about the way government should work.
“We will lose our freedoms in this country, including all of the Bill of Rights, if we don’t robustly defend the separation of powers,” Ryan said at his weekly press conference inside the U.S. Capitol.
Ryan was asked by reporters numerous times about Trump’s recent conduct. Just this week, the presumptive Republican presidential nominee questioned whether President Obama actually wants to stop terrorist attacks, accused many American Muslims of sheltering terrorists and said he could act unilaterally as president to prevent any type or class of people from entering the country. Trump made the last claim despite the fact that Article I, Section 8, clause 4 of the Constitution entrus…

STEPHEN CURRY GETS EJECTED LATE AS LEBRON JAMES AND THE CAVALIERS DESTROY THE WARRIORS TO FORCE A GAME 7

Last night was an even tougher night for the Golden State Warriors than that of Game 5, as the pressure increases with every game played. Now it's come down to one final winner-take-all game 7 in Oakland. Barely a few days ago these NBA finals were an indictment of LeBron James’s failings as a superstar. His Cleveland Cavaliers were on the verge of losing the championship a second straight year to a Golden State Warriors unit built on team play inspired by their best player, Steph Curry, but by late Thursday night, James had perhaps made a solid case for himself as the league’s best player still, scoring 41 points, accompanied by 8 rebounds and 11 assists as he carried Cleveland to a 115-101 Game 6 victory. The finals have now been pushed to a Game 7 that few (including myself) never saw coming. The Warriors are now on the verge of going from an almost certain second straight title to an epic collapse. Stephen Curry, the league's two-time reigning MVP, was in foul trouble mos…

World champions Germany held to goaless draw by defensive Poland

Germany and Poland played out a scoreless draw that sees both teams on four points after two games.
Neither side could get a foothold in a pretty drab first half but Arek Milik passed up a gilt-edged opportunity just after the interval. The Ajax man somehow contrived to put a Kamil Grosicki cross wide of goal when it seemed easier to score. Germany, who started the match with Mario Götze in a false nine position, failed to really threaten the goal of Lukasz Fabianski for much of the match. Germany and Poland both have four points, with Northern Ireland a point behind. Ukraine are bottom having taken no points from their two games.

Daniel Sturridge late winner against wales grabs England first win at the Euro's

Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge's injury-time goal was enough to guarantee England victory; with four points seeing them go top of their group, they are close to the second phase; with three points, Wales aren't far off either.
England started well, pinning Wales inside their box, but found it difficult to create goal scoring chances against a team sitting back and sitting deep. Raheem Sterling missed badly after seven minutes, managing only to guide his finish wide, but England could not create any serious chances after that, moving the ball too slowly.
Then, just before half-time, Wales won a free-kick 30 yards out and central. Up stepped superman in the form of Gareth Bale, and he slammed a curler that Joe Hart ought to have saved but instead palmed into the corner. Roy Hodgson needed to make changes at the break and he did, bringing on Daniel Sturridge and Jamie Vardy for Sterling and Harry Kane; he was rewarded when Vardy e…

The Duke of Cambridge Prince WIlliam becomes the first Royal to pose for thecover of LGBT Magazine.

The Duke is speaking out on homophobic bullying – and is now the first royal ever to cover an LGBT magazine.

Prince William recently opened his Kensington Palace home for a discussion with British LGBT magazine Attitude and met with a group of nine people who have endured homophobic bullying.

After the palace chat, William released a statement to the magazine saying, “No one should be bullied for their sexuality or any other reason and no one should have to put up with the kind of hate that these young people have endured in their lives.”

The Duke's appearance on the cover of the magazine comes just days after the mass shooting at the Orlando gay nightclub, Pulse. William and wife Princess Kate paid their respects in the wake of the attack Tuesday when they signed a book of condolence at the U.S. Embassy in London.

William’s efforts are part of the joint campaign on combating mental health difficulties that he has started with  his wife Kate and brother Prince Harry. Will…

Cristiano Ronaldo's Portugal freeze as Iceland melt hearts at stunning Euro debut

Fernando Santos's men were expected to be among the favorite's at this years euros, but are already playing catch-up to group leaders Hungary after being held to a 1-1 draw against Iceland last night. Maybe after beating The Netherlands, Turkey and the Czech Republic to get to Euro 2016, Iceland might be feeling a little disappointed after failing to beat Cristiano Ronaldo and Portugal during their first-ever major tournament match - a 1-1 draw here at Euro 2016.
If that underplays this terrific result then it only serves to illustrates the mindset present in each and every player in the squad - and every fan in the stands for that matter too. For 90 minutes they took everything Ronaldo had to throw at them and not only survived but proved to be Portugal's equal. Had Alfred Finnbogason managed to steer a late shot past the Portugal goalkeeper instead of straight at him, it could have been even better.
"I think we were a bit unlucky not to ste…
