Richard Gasquet suffered a shock defeat in the first round of Queen's as Steve Johnson of the USA claimed a memorable victory on a rain-affected day.
The fourth seed looked out of sorts as he lost 7-6(2) 6-2 to the American as he warmed up for Wimbledon with an inauspicious showing on the grass.
Usually very adept on the surface, Gasquet lost the second set comprehensively after Johnson won the opening set tie-break for the loss of just two points.
Just one result was possible as rain spoiled the day's action at the Queen's Club ahead of Wimbledon later in the summer. Former Wimbledon champion and home favourite Andy Murray is set for action on Tuesday but with further rain forecast.
